Calace was also popular in pre-1917 Russia. There was a dealer Iosif Feodorovich Mueller in Moscow, who became an exclusive Calace representative in Russia around 1906.

I found some earlier examples of Calace in Russia, a very interesting line of instruments labelled Fratelli Calace with mentioning of both Napoli and Catania on the label. Only a few instruments are found so far and no other of the same rare breed seen anywhere else,but Russia.
